Briana Pickens is a writer and classically trained dancer working at the intersection of a literary and performance practice. She received an MFA in Interdisciplinary Literary Arts from Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She’s interested in multi-dimensional prose; in language as material; and in engaging both her body and that of the reader—she’s looking to choreograph text. Her work is an exercise in designing poems that can interrogate space and ultimately, perform.
